FLUIX AI raises $2.1M to run AI data centers on autopilot and cut energy use in half
Jan 22, 2025
San Francisco, CA – January 22nd, 2025 – FLUIX, an autonomous facilities startup specializing in an AI Autopilot for buildings and infrastructure controls, announced the successful close of its $2.1M SAFE round, raised in late 2024. As large language models (LLMs) continue to drive increasing energy demands in data centers, FLUIX’s AI Autopilot platform, A.I.M.I. ®, makes these facilities ultra-efficient, reducing costs and environmental impact. Think of FLUIX as the “Eco-AI” transforming data centers into fully optimized, automated AI factories.
The funding will support pilot deployments, enhance platform testing and development, and drive team expansion to scale FLUIX’s operations and sales in 2025.
The round was kicked off by Pi Labs, a UK-based VC specializing in proptech and the built environment. Pi Labs brings expertise in scaling built environment startups with several successful exits in the space. Faisal Butt, Founder and Managing Partner at Pi Labs, said: “As the world’s reliance on data centres grows exponentially, as does our responsibility to ensure these critical buildings for society are being run as efficiently as possible. Groundbreaking tech solutions, such as FLUIX AI, can dramatically help to slash energy, operational costs and in turn carbon emissions – and the scale of the opportunity is truly global.”
The largest investment came from Shadow Ventures, an Atlanta-based proptech VC fund, which brings strategic backing through its LP network of engineering firms specializing in data center construction and operations. “With energy growth lagging datacenter demand, FLUIX AI will be integral to leveraging available energy supply to meet the demand.” - KP Reddy, Founder & Managing Partner of Shadow Ventures, added. Other participants include Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab, Alumni Ventures, Techstars, REFASHIOND Ventures, CO.LAB, gener8tor, and a group of angel investors.
FLUIX is working with early clients, including colocation groups in LATAM, Central Florida, and industrial groups in Tennessee and Utah, to demonstrate the energy savings potential of its AI Autopilot Platform. Ed Nuckols, Chief Operating Officer of Colo Solutions, said: "We are thrilled to partner with Fluix to leverage their innovative solutions for driving energy efficiency in our data center operations. This collaboration reflects our commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge technology, enabling us to deliver even greater value to our clients while reducing our environmental footprint."
A moonshot technology - validated:
This funding builds on FLUIX’s proven success, including a 40% reduction in server room energy use for Solideon, as highlighted in a case study with Santa Cruz Works, over a six month period. These results were instrumental in helping FLUIX secure its first cohort of data center clients, kicking off this funding round.
“Data centers are among the most complex buildings to optimize, with diverse equipment, changing parameters, and siloed data systems. That’s where A.I.M.I. ® steps in. Its multi-agent capabilities bridge the gap between HVAC, water, and IT systems, enabling autonomous control based on environmental factors and IT load data. With A.I.M.I. ®, data centers can achieve unparalleled efficiency, saving energy and reducing costs across any equipment or location.”
